Warning!!!! Enter at your own risk, the views expressed here are not necessarily the views of management and all those other nifty warnings… and now, the other side of the story – a collaborative effort that may ramble and even be a tad repeatative but like a bulimic I must purge after the binge…..
Several ladies are expressing their anger and hurt at the set up of a new board and the fact they weren't invited. There was no one "invited" just informed that we were moving. Many of the active iVillager posters knew a new board was coming since the new format was just more than we could hack. We gave it our best and found that we just could not work with it. We moved on Saturday the 28th 2 full days before any board deletion. In my opinion the fact it happened so close to one another is coincidence. As for the "invites" it began as informing current members of the PP board. Those that had moved to the 54 board had been mentioned but it was unsure if that by contacting any we would then be accused of splitting the board or some other accusation plus we don’t have the email addresses of everyone, some on 54 even stated only one or two people have their email. Add to that lack of sleep and foggy brain function, some people were inadvertently overlooked and I am sorry for that. But gee here it is day 4/5 of the new 54 board there are still some THERE that have not been contacted w/the new link??? Hmmmmmmmmm What’s good for the goose ISN”T good for the gander??? Life is really just a lot of one way streets??
We felt that it was best not to overstep the boundaries of the two boards for the sake of group harmony. Anyone coming and posting to the PP board looking for any of us would have been contacted with our new address. It was never done in secret, it was just done after repeated requests from some for a more friendly place to converse.
As for the "why's" to why some chose not to move to the 54 board? Well, some have made their reasons VERY clear why they refuse to move to the 54 board and it has NOTHING to do with loyalty to the PP board. The message deleting and IP banning at 54 only reinforced those opinions. ESP after LENGTHY discussions on 54 about the fact that NO ONE was or would be banned!! But seems they were just words and people have been and ARE banned – ask your leader – she admitted it once, will she again?? And isn’t it just sooo funny that shortly after she DID admit it that the original 54 board was deleted sometime after 11 pm EST after the last visitor was logged at 10:59 EST (and just how long did that person visit Leslie? Sitemeter DOES provide that information) Add to that the fact that the new 54 board was created almost immediately at just before 1am EST (less then 2 hrs of time frame) -- just a bit tooo much coincidence in THAT aspect for me.. NO ONE from IV/TPP or that I associate with deleted anyone's fucking board... And the new board was started because so many people kept asking me to start a new one because they couldn't get to IV so I finally caved in... and I don't appreciate the accusations and EXCLUSIVENESS of those running 54 - ESP those I THOUGHT were my friends!!!!! AND it was started mid day SATURDAY for the fucking RECORD!! ONLY an OWNER can delete a forum... believe what you want but it's the truth… And as for tracking IP addresses – well yes you can see the last person to visit the board but administrative tasks are performed in another area that is NOT tracked by sitemeter any other such program… Go create a board, play around, put on sitemeter and see for yourself… And while we are on the subject of SITEMETER – WHY is it a private account for a PUBLIC board??? Why can we NOT see the list of visitors to the 54 board???
We moved because we missed chatting with each other. The vote was for the majority to move to 54 and the majority did. Why did anyone think that everyone would move? They have every right to want a place they feel comfortable enough to chat in a forum that will not ban the or delete them only because the owner doesn't like the person or what she's read. (and this HAS happened!)
Funny but don’t ya think it’s ironic how some feel betrayed we set up the board and hurt we didn't ask them/tell them first..... Hmmmmmmmmmmmm gee isn't that how I felt and posted about and got accused of being sophmoric and childish??? Not to beat a dead horse but I would have thought my friends would have given Kat and I the curteousy of talking to us as we were/are the leaders before they started 54 to start and THAT is what hurt.... not that we didn’t need a new place or even one was created but that we weren't given any curteousy or respect and asked first – THAT has been the issue atleast with me all long… and I did go to 54 and ask about a 3rd board…. My ass was handed to me on a silver platter for stirring up drama and creating problems… SOOO the majority voted to stay at 54 (but not ALL as some have stated in their opinions… it was NEVER a unanimous vote for 54 nor was the decision of the majority ever the end all be all regarding the fate of where the Oct 99 ladies would meet to converse) but as stated earlier some just weren’t comfortable there or couldn’t get there and had been asking/begging for a new home to chat at… If 54 had already stated their position once why go back over and rehash it all and stir things up AGAIN??? And why bother voting again?? You won’t get a full and unbiased vote – ESP considering WHERE the post was placed…. Most of the ladies there have made up their minds…
The board was already split before the set up of this newest board, and in reality perhaps the wedges were put in place somewhere surrounding the time frame of 9/11. Your choice was respected so please respect the choice of others. We want to share with and enjoy each other and we are trying to put all pettiness aside.
And gee while I am at THANKS FOR MY INVITE to the new 54!!!! Yes I have the link, found it on my own thank you very much… such a warm and welcoming home there, don’t ya think??? And stating that you didn’;t have my email is CRAP because I am almost always on AIM and anyone one of you could have found there and told me! And how soo polite and considerate to post a cryptic and vague message regarding an email on the new board telling only vaguely of a new 54…. Trying to stir things up and cause drama and trouble??? Please don’t start all that again…
Nor is the irony lost on me how suddenly many are considering the TTP board almost immediately after I posted I don't want to be a leader there.... As Leslie stated in a post “Sorry but I have put a lot of time and effort into this board and I don't appreciate it being torn apart in a way *I* think was intentional. Everything that has happened was very back handed and secretive.”
OH MY!!!!!!!!! You don’t say Leslie??? Geee but seems that Kat and I can soooo relate to those feelings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have put A LOT of time and effort into trying to be the best leader that I can for OVER TWO YEARS at IV/PP and YOU didn’t seem to care about that but now YOU want sympathy?? And again THANKS for the invite/information regarding a new 54 board…. That wasn’t done secretively at all now was it??? And you say the board is not exclusive???
